The Sr. Digital Marketing Specialist will execute and measure omnichannel digital marketing campaigns to support the Advancement team and Alumni Association's objectives. Reporting to the Associate Director of Omnichannel Strategy, this role requires expertise in HTML (Drupal), email and SMS campaign journey building and automation using Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and cross-channel strategies.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Digital Marketing Campaigns & Strategy Execution (75%)
Execute digital marketing strategies.
Develop targeted email and SMS campaigns via Salesforce Marketing Cloud, personalized for alumni, donors, and prospective students.
Build customized workflows based on donor history, preferences, and engagement levels.
Leverage data insights to optimize digital assets, conduct A/B testing, and drive user engagement.
Create and optimize responsive email templates, landing pages, and other digital assets for donor journeys.
Design and deploy SMS campaigns for events, fundraising, and alumni initiatives.
Utilize HTML5 and CSS3 to craft visually engaging digital content.
Collaborate with university colleagues to ensure cohesive digital marketing efforts.
Oversee landing page content management.
Social Media & Digital Advertising (15%)
Grow social media presence across key platforms.
Develop wireframes and mockups to plan landing page layouts and user flows.
Craft visually appealing content and regularly assess social media performance for continuous improvement.
Manage content across digital channels, including websites.
Run digital advertising campaigns on platforms like Google Ads, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Coordinate with designers, team members, and vendors to ensure high-quality media assets.
Analytics & Market Research (10%)
Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities.
Analyze campaign performance, using insights to enhance donor journey effectiveness.
Work with the data team to segment email audiences for targeted communications.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
Experience: 4-8 years in digital marketing, ideally within higher education or non-profit sectors.
Technical Skills:
Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including journeys, automation, studio, mobile connect, and SMS capabilities.
Knowledge of SEO/SEM best practices.
- Experience using HTML5 and CSS3 to craft visually engaging digital content.
Proficiency in social media and digital advertising platforms (e.g., Sprout, HootSuite, Google Analytics).
A/B and multivariate testing experience.
BONUS SKILLS:
Strong written and verbal communication.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Certifications in Salesforce Marketing Cloud or other marketing automation tools.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or similar design tools (e.g., Canva).
Experience with Tableau, Scalefunder, Sprout Social, and BlackBaud or similar CRM systems.
Web analytics experience with tools like Google Analytics.
Knowledge of SQL or data query languages.
Familiarity with digital accessibility standards and best practices.
