Life University

It’s back to school time and there are special classes that I’d love to see offered…

First Impressions 101 – This class starts promptly at 9:00am. At 9:01am, the Instructor hands out final grades and dismisses the class for the semester. It can be frustrating, but that’s just the way it goes.

Second Chances 200 – It’s an elective…for the instructor. They’ll invite you into the class if they feel you didn’t destroy your chances of getting in this class the first time around.

Hindsight 2020 – You, along with your classmates, will all have recently realized you made the wrong move somewhere along the line. Interviews that suddenly went off the rails will be a major topic of class discussion. Also, perfect jobs that were dismissed outright will be mulled over again and again.

Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda 333 – This is a series of three classes that examine a student’s reason for hesitation and doubt. Naturally, it’s always tough to decide if you want to enroll in this class. If you do decline to attend this class, you can enroll in the next offering (see below).

Regrets 500 – Most people are coming to this class after great introspection. Some will decide it’s a waste of time to attend. Others will decide to accept it and will sign up. However, some will not, ultimately, finish the class. This will eat at them for the rest of their lives. The upside to this is that they become next semester’s case study.

Success 900 – It’s difficult to get into this class because of the prerequisites. Having said that, it’s always full. The Professor doesn’t just look at salary or stature, but rather evaluates your positive contributions and the effects you’ve had on others.
