Job #8748 | Remote, Eastern Time preferred | Short-term contract, November through March; no conversion expectation stated | Full-time hours, benefits eligible
ABOUT THE ROLE
Our client is seeking a hands-on B2B Marketing Automation Specialist to support a defined marketing operations and systems transition. This role will focus primarily on Adobe Marketo configuration, Salesforce CRM-connected lead management, scoring, automation, data cleanup, testing, and quality assurance rather than high-volume email production. The specialist will adapt an established Marketo environment to support additional B2B audiences with complex, long buying cycles while partnering closely with a small internal team. The engagement is expected to run from November through March and requires someone equally comfortable executing detailed configuration work and identifying opportunities to improve processes.
ABOUT OUR CLIENT
Our client is a healthcare organization supporting multiple areas of the industry and complex B2B buying journeys. The marketing team operates an established Adobe Marketo environment connected to Salesforce CRM and is expanding that infrastructure to support additional business audiences. This contractor will join a small collaborative team during a significant systems transition, helping ensure marketing automation, lead-management processes, and underlying data are configured and tested before workload increases.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Configure and refine Adobe Marketo smart campaigns, lead scoring, lifecycle logic, routing, notifications, lists, segmentation, and marketing automation
- Adapt existing Marketo infrastructure and lead-management processes to support different B2B buyer journeys
- Validate Salesforce CRM record synchronization, field population, statuses, campaign data, routing, scoring, and other connected marketing processes
- Create and test records to verify automation, scoring, lifecycle, notification, and CRM behavior
- Clean duplicate, incomplete, or inaccurate data that could interfere with lead-management workflows
- Troubleshoot configuration, data, synchronization, and workflow issues and validate edge cases
- Process operational tickets and manual marketing-operations tasks as needed
- Document configuration decisions, testing results, exceptions, and completed work
- Recommend practical improvements to scoring, automation, and operational processes while remaining hands-on with execution
- Support limited migration of email activity from an existing marketing platform into Marketo as needed
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Hands-on Adobe Marketo or Marketo Engage experience configuring lead scoring, smart campaigns, lifecycle or lead-management automation, and routing logic
- Hands-on Salesforce CRM experience involving lead or contact records, campaigns, fields, reporting, or CRM-connected marketing processes
- Approximately 2+ years of hands-on Adobe Marketo configuration or operations experience preferred
- B2B marketing operations experience supporting complex or long sales cycles strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to build or modify lead-scoring and lead-management workflows and validate their behavior across Marketo and Salesforce CRM
- Experience with data hygiene, record testing, QA, troubleshooting, and detailed marketing-operations work
- Ability to work effectively within an existing Marketo environment and determine what should be replicated, modified, or maintained
- Willingness to perform repetitive configuration, testing, cleanup, and ticket-based work as part of the engagement
- Ability to identify and recommend process improvements while personally executing the required work
- Experience with account-based marketing or account-scoring platforms is preferred but not required
