ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Production Artist supports the execution of print and digital design projects, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines. This role focuses on creating, refining, and preparing assets for production in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

ABOUT OUR CLIENT:

Our client is a large healthcare organization in Columbus, Ohio with ongoing creative and communications needs across departments.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

75% DESIGN AND PRODUCTION

  • Generate graphic design layouts, concepts, and technical specifications for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate printing, photography, and other required services to fulfill project requirements.
  • Utilize provided templates to layout and design elements following brand guidelines.
  • Prepare layouts for print production, including resizing and retouching photos as necessary.
  • Select colors, images, and text styles in alignment with brand standards.
  • Review graphics and layouts to ensure accuracy before finalization.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting client deadlines and expectations.
  • Maintain and update assets for the creative team as needed.
  • Support cataloging, resizing, and versioning of storyscapes across multiple formats and use cases.

25% ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Organize and maintain photo and design project files on central servers.
  • Version and archive assets within SharePoint and the organization’s digital asset management system.
  • Utilize tools for QR code generation and SharePoint for file sharing and storage.
  • Maintain and organize assets within the digital asset management system (photo repository).
  • Stay abreast of advancements in software and hardware relevant to the role.
  • Familiarize yourself with Workfront, the project management system utilized within the department.
  • Collaborate with freelance photographers and creative service providers as required.
  • Enforce brand standards across all projects.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design or visual communication
  • Minimum of 1 year of working experience in a production or team environment, or equivalent education and experience
  • Proficiency in graphic design, pre-press, printing, and photography processes
  • Extensive knowledge of typography, composition, and color strategy
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver), Acrobat, and Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with website content management systems and experience in designing for interactive platforms is advantageous
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and various browser capabilities preferred
  • Previous experience with corporate or organizational brand standards is desirable
