A Year In…Oh, Wait…A Decade in Review

2019 is coming to a close and so is the decade. Just for fun, let’s start the conversation by looking back at a few things that didn’t exist 10 years ago:

  • iPads

  • Snapchat

  • Instagram

  • Lyft

  • Pinterest

  • Square

  • Alexa

  • Venmo

Other fun facts: the 2010 Best Picture was “Hurt Locker”, in 2012 the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, and the top song in 2015 was “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars.

Portfolio Creative did exist 10 years ago. As a matter of fact, we are starting our 15th year of business! Thank you for supporting us and in return, we hope that we have affected your life in some way. Well, not like an iPad, but maybe more like this, with:

  • Filling 100s of creative roles that have helped people pay their mortgage, feed their families, and hopefully have a job that they truly enjoy.

  • Filling 100s of creative roles that helped companies get the person with the skill sets that they desperately needed to complete the team, complete the project, or grow an already awesome business.

  • Creating an information connection to you with our blogs, videos, presentations, and now our podcast, Illumination Bureau, with the hope that we can help you navigate a job loss, a new opportunity, or add to a growing team with less struggle.

  • Providing “job therapy” to everyone. We counsel those that have been down-sized, those that are experiencing a poor job fit, those that need help finding candidates, and those that are not entirely sure what they need.

  • People. We really just help people and try and make a positive impact on their lives and their careers. We work so you can work.

One last thing about the decade coming to an end. We hope that you have accomplished everything you wanted to in the last 10 years. If you didn’t, you have the next decade to get it done. That is the cool thing about a fresh new year, or decade, new opportunities.

Alexa, can you predict what the next 10 years hold for us?
