My name is Jacob WP Ramey, I graduated from Otterbein University in 2012 with a degree in Design Technology with a focus on Lighting Design and Production Management. I am the founder and owner of Platinum TDM, we are experts in live & virtual event technology and media broadcast. Platinum TDM has been in business for 6 years. I am originally from Zanesville, Ohio. I am a theatre professional, entrepreneur, and an event specialist. I currently live in Westerville Ohio and my office is in Gahanna Ohio. My wife and I are devoted visitors to the Ohio Renaissance Festival–we are Lord of the Rings nerds, we collect swords and I have been going since I could walk. It’s one of my favorite places on earth.
Morning:
II try to wake up at the same time every day. I get ready, love on my (2) Mastiffs and (4) cats, kiss my lovely, amazing wife, and head into my office. I take 15 minutes to try and spiritually align, then I review my schedule for the day, and then start my team check-in at work.
Afternoon:
I make sure to read and take some time to learn something new in the middle of the day. I connect with mentors. I like pausing the workday to get some new knowledge and experience. When I take lunch, I focus on not working and resting–one of my favorite lunch locations is Estilo Brazil…my wife lived in Brazil and is fluent in Portuguese…it’s as authentic as you get. Taking a real mental break in the afternoon is critical to rebalance myself before the second half of the day.
Evening:
I love the startup community! I love teaching and mentoring small businesses in incubators. I currently support Mediatech Ventures with their Cohort International Incubator. I am an entrepreneur that owns an AV production company, a Green Event consulting company, learn more here, and JWPR Signatures, a holding company for my projects.
I am a blues guitarist for leisure. I created a podcast called “The Last Gig” focusing on event professionals discussing the future of the industry. I work as a keynote speaker and am working on being an author this year. All of this work can be found at JWPR Signatures.
I love my wife and my small zoo at home. I am an artist who loves to create, I don’t always know what medium I want to use until I use it. The first and most important thing I do is turn off work. I try to go on a walk with my wife and the dogs to de-energize the workday. Matt the Miller’s Tavern is where we go to celebrate. If we are really looking to get away, Landoll’s Mohican Castle is a magical place that we got to at least two times a year because of the amazing customer service and beauty of the castle.
